What should I buy if…

If your child is at the 1-3 Yellow reading level, we recommend the eBundle, which includes everything you need to teach your child to read.

We recommend:
  • Any 1-3 Yellow Collections. Choose themes that are of interest to your child. We recommend up to 25 books to provide your child with plenty of choice. Note that your child will use the same 1-3 Yellow books for each of the 1Y, 2Y, and 3Y reading levels but will work on a new reading skill at each level.
  • Letter Sound Books with one book dedicated to each letter. These books will help your child learn letter sounds, which is a Power Goal for 3 Yellow.
  • We recommend:
  • Any 1 Green Collections. Choose themes that are of interest to your child. We recommend up to 25 books at each reading level.

  • Your child may be ready for 1 Blue books which are written at the middle of first grade reading level.

We recommend that parents maintain a library of up to 25 books at each reading level so there are enough options for children to choose new books for varied practice. You can always start with 5 or 10 books at each reading level and see how that works for your child, then add more books as needed.
